Mario Asef
is a precise and yet poetic recorder of the fleeting and the mundane. His
public interventions, photographs, videos and soundscapes emphasize, in an
unpretentious and yet precise way, moments of displacement and the disappearance
of space and time.
He subtly combines personal experiences with ideas from the art theory and
science with politically loaded messages.
He often reflects aspects of his particular position as an artist, worker,
tourist, etc., but without falling into banal clichés. In a subversive
and humorous way, Mario Asef manages to breach the rules of the everyday life.
Like a researcher he explores, with the most different mediums, the construct
of public spaces and public life.

Mario Asef ist ein präziser und poetischer Protokollant des Flüchtigen und Alltäglichen. Seine Interventionen im öffentlichen Raum, Fotografien, Videos und Soundscapes betonen unprätentiös, aber bestimmt den Moment der Verschiebung und des Verschwindens von Raum und Zeit.
